Larry has a unique law practice that is the product of his experience representing employers and senior executives in complex employment matters. Larry is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and admitted to practice in Texas, California, and New York. Before founding the firm, Larry was a partner at Baker & McKenzie and co-director of the labor and employment practice at Legge Farrow. He is a proud graduate of Tulane Law School and the University of California Irvine.
Larry got an early start as a trial lawyer with a federal civil rights trial in New Orleans as a clinic student at Tulane and a Texas jury trial as a first-year associate. Over the course of his career, he has tried labor and employment cases to verdict, judgment, and decision in state and federal court, before administrative agencies, and in arbitration. Larry advises and represents employers in all types of labor and employment matters, including litigation of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases, development of personnel policies, implementation of workforce reductions, restrictive covenant agreements and trade secret claims, EEO and code of conduct investigations, and administrative agency proceedings, among others.
Larry is an experienced executive compensation and transactional employment lawyer, whose practice at Baker & McKenzie included drafting and negotiating executive employment and compensation agreements and assisting with corporate acquisitions as part of executive compensation and due diligence teams. Larry left Baker & McKenzie to assist senior executives with their employment and compensation deals without Big Law conflicts, and to assist employers and private equity clients with executive agreements. He and the firm have represented hundreds of C-suite executives in connection with compensation packages, employment deals, and related disputes.
Larry is an Adjunct Professor in Management in Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business, where he teaches Business Law and Applied Contracts Law classes. He previously served as President of Jones Partners. Larry is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, the Society for Human Resource Management, and other professional organizations. He is a regular speaker at national and regional human resources and legal conferences and has authored articles on many employment law topics. He has served on non-profit boards, including as Board Chair for CanCare, I Have a Dream Houston, and HR Houston. Larry was recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers & Partners in 2024. Larry was recognized as a “Top 100: Houston Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters in 2022 and 2023, and has been recognized as a Texas “Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters twenty times, in addition to recognition by other organizations.
